organization tips, organization questions and answers
1. I love holiday cards, but I never know what to do with them all??
There are so many creative ways to display holiday cards! Pinterest is overflowing with adorable ideas, like attaching them to the garland with clothespins or just use some washi tape and find a wall! Something like this (or DIY like this) can work double duty; use it to display holiday cards every season and as a bulletin board throughout the year. Use them as temporary holiday décor, lasting as long as the tree. And just remember that you will be getting more holiday cards next year! If you really want to keep a few, grab a photo box and organize them by year!

2. Help! I’m a mom and can’t seem to keep all my kids toys contained! Is there a way to keep the toys organized and not all over the house?
First things first, regularly go through all of the toys and get rid of or donate the ones that are no longer age appropriate, broken or games with missing pieces. I recommend keeping all the toys in one designated area so it is easier to keep track of and when you find a toy in the kitchen everyone knows where it should go. Now it is time to find the toys a home. Depending on what works for you, a versatile piece like the one I mentioned in the organize this post would be a great option (you may need two!). Slide in some baskets, designate a few cubes for books and you’re good to go. Some other great options to contain toys are a chest or some cute bins!

3. How do you organize a space if your roommate is messy?
Get thick blue tape and place it down the middle of the room. Your side, my side! Just kidding, well kind of. You can only control your things in your own space. So when it comes to common areas, try and create a simple and convenient organizational system. In the living room, use baskets or bins to minimize the clutter and to give video games and movies a home or one for a miscellaneous catch all. A bench or ottoman that doubles as storage is a great option too! Use an over the wall pocket storage in the bathroom and hooks in the entryway to keep things from piling up on the floor. When it comes to maintaining common areas, try and have a conversation with your roommate about picking things up once a week or try and figure out a plan that works for both of you.

4. I just had a baby and I know my weight will be different and my clothes I can’t fit into will fit soon…what do I do?
Try going through ALL of your clothes and put them into piles. Clothes that you love and currently fit, pre-pregnancy clothes that you will be happy to see and wear again, and a pile for no longer want/need. In the meantime, put the clothes (that don’t fit just yet, but you still love) in a bin and store them. Set a reminder on your phone for 6 months down the road. Every 6 months take a look at what you have stored away, try them on and decide if you want to add a few things to your current wardrobe, want to hang on to them for another 6 months, or toss/donate if they are now out of style or are no longer flattering.

5. Is there a way to keep my paper coupons organized??
Yes, yes there is! If you are the extreme coupon type, you know the deal! But for others who have a handful of coupons, there are a few ways to keep them organized and available so you won’t forget to use them! There are wallet size accordion style folders where you can label categories (dairy, breakfast, etc.) and file all your coupons. Keep it either in your car, by the fridge, or near your keys (so you can grab it on the way to the grocery store!). If you only have a few coupons, there are magnetic holders that can go right on the fridge!

Nice posts. I don’t want to sound harsh at all. Did you mean clothespin or did you mean to spell close?
